All about Novel Grey

Novel Grey was founded in 2021 by designer couple Marjolein and Jan-Paul Deurloo and was born out of the desire to make an impact. Experimentations with recycling industrial concrete waste, saving up to 76% CO2 in the production process, eventually grew into a luxury interior wall decoration label. Now, Novel Grey is a material-driven design studio that produces handmade 3D wall tiles and bespoke wall decorations.

Sustainable concrete, making it special

After years of experimentation and trial and error, we found a way to reuse and upcycle old building concrete rubble and industrial metallurgical waste to reduce the negative impact of the main ingredient of concrete; Portland cement. By reducing or replacing Portland cement we can reduce its carbon footprint by up to 76%. All Novel Grey tiles are made to order and do not need big energy-absorbing ovens to cure our tiles.
